The Weekly Five

The Weekly Five

Hello! This is the first week for me where it has felt like Autumn is coming. I am planning on a weekend full of steaming tea and plenty of family time. Happy Friday!

Here are five of my recent favourite discoveries...

1) The original sexy rashie

Hands up...I have a real soft spot for this one. Finally, a rashie that is flattering and is oh so beautiful to wear. I tested out the Une Piece recently during my time in Amalfi and I am in love. It’s so sleek, provides a lovely layer of warmth and feels wonderful to wear. I know it will be perfect when I take George swimming too, to keep the sun off my back while I play with him in the waves.

2) A good holiday read

Emma Straub’s The Vacationers about a haphazard family vacation to Mallorca was an ideal page-turner for the beach. It also has me looking at villas on the Spanish island, dreaming of our next holiday…

3) You have definitely seen this ad before…

I work in the world of marketing and I always enjoy little gems like this video titled ‘this is a generic millennial ad’. Because of course, all millennials spontaneously dance in the street and run along the beach with sparklers like, all the time.

This Is a Generic Millennial Ad, created with And/Or studio, shows how easy it is to appeal to anyone born between 1980 and 2000. The good news? Thanks to social media, it's easy to connect with this influential audience. The bad news? They hate spending money on things. (Except for maybe avocados.)

4) Nailed it

I am rarely one for nail polish, but I unearthed and old favourite - Revlon’s Grey Suede - and have been admiring my hands all week. I love the chic, understated colour for this not-really-hot and not-really-cold time of the year.

5) Recipes please!

With Autumn upon us I’m rolling up my sleeves for the onslaught of soup-making that will go down in our kitchen. I found this great index charting in-season produce to help inspire me...do you have any favourite soup recipes? Sam is particularly hankering for a good cream of tomato soup...all suggestions much appreciated! (You can see my favourite warming winter soup here).

With Love,

Kate
